During the second week of Advent, in addition to fasting one day a week, we invite you to meditate on the life of Jesus in Sacred Scripture. The Bible is the Word of God and by praying with Scripture, we hear God speak. The more we meditate on God’s Word, the easier it will be for us to hear Him speak to us in our everyday lives and thus conform our will to God’s will in our journey to becoming the Saints that God is calling each of us to be.
How can you begin praying with Scripture? Here are a few ideas…
† Lectio Divina with the daily Gospel
† Pray with the daily Mass readings
† Participate in a Bible Study
† Pray along with Fr. Mike Schmidt’s podcast Bible in a Year from Ascension Presents
† Or, pray with the upcoming Sunday’s Mass readings.
