WEEK 1: Fasting

WEEK 2: Scripture

WEEK 3: The Rosary

For the Third Week of Advent, we are diving into the third chamber of the Sacred Heart: The Rosary. Tradition recalls that the rosary was given to the Church from Mary to St. Dominic in the early 13th century. The rosary is composed of 5 sets of an Our Father and ten Hail Marys, these 5 decades invite the faithful to meditate on different moments and events of the life of Jesus Christ.

Praying the rosary, in addition to reading Scripture and fasting, allows us the opportunity to build upon the foundation we have created these last two weeks. This practice invites us to intentionally look at the life of Jesus and will help us to imitate Him.

We want to invite you to pray one decade of the rosary everyday as we build this practice of prayer. Typically, certain mysteries of the rosary are said on each day:

† Joyful Mysteries: Mondays & Saturdays

† Sorrowful Mysteries: Tuesdays & Fridays

† Glorious Mysteries: Sundays & Wednesdays

† Luminous Mysteries: Thursdays
